Our new BC Gallery Catalogue intends to provide information to artists and the general public about a spectrum of visual arts organizations, including arts councils, virtual or online artist collectives, artist run centres, public and commercial galleries, presentation spaces, museums, and Indigenous cultural organizations.
We hope to cultivate a better understanding of artist fee payments, cultural safety and accessibility. We aim to provide a resource highlighting diverse opportunities for artists in British Columbia, and to support artists in deciding where to submit their work and detail the different professional paths available to them. Art organizations across the province is encouraged to participate, regardless of whether or not they see themselves as a “gallery,” a preview of the questions can be found here, and when you are ready to fill out and submit your information, you can access it here, or send it via email to bc@carfac.ca.
