Personal health insurance for the Canadian artistic community
CARFAC BC is proud to announce a new benefit available to members.
Need personal extended health insurance? CARFAC BC members in good standing have access to the popular Arts & Entertainment Plan® – an affordable health insurance plan offered by the not-for-profit insurer AFBS, made exclusively for the Canadian artistic community. And accessing the plan has become even easier with the online quoting and enrollment functionality which boasts the fastest application process in Canada.
The Arts & Entertainment Plan® is designed to help artists manage their health care costs. CARFAC BC members are guaranteed acceptance* into the plan, with no medical questionnaires necessary and no refusals based on pre-existing conditions.
There are two plan options: Standard and Comprehensive. Both options offer dental, prescription drug, extended health care (vision care, hospital room, and paramedical services such as massage therapy, acupuncture, etc.), and travel emergency medical coverage. Both options also provide life and AD&D insurance and a Member and Family Assistance Program.
Coverage is available for CARFAC BC members and their families. A convenient monthly payment option is available, and your premiums may be tax-deductible.
To be eligible for the plan, you must:
- Be a professional in the arts, living in Canada
- Have a valid Provincial Health Card
- Be under 71 years of age
The Arts & Entertainment Plan® website provides a price quote in just two steps and it enables you to enroll in the plan and pay online by credit card. Once you’re registered you’ll have access to a new member portal where you can login and view your account details.
Note: When enrolling online, please enter your CARFAC BC membership number in the Organization Code field.
